THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Le Paon Restaurant Review:
Le Paon brings an old-world feeling to Palm Desert. The Victorian décor is striking with a clean granite and marble interior, and Strauss chandeliers shine on the surroundings. An enclosed garden patio provides the setting for a romantic dinner. If you prefer dining indoors, you will have a spectacular view of the lights of the Coachella Valley through the window wall. Le Paon is managed by Antoine Babai, and brother, chef Eddie Babai, oversees the kitchen. The chef and staff create hors d'œuvres that are designed to please: escargots à la bourguignon in a garlic butter sauce; oysters Rockefeller; and carpaccio, wafer thin with a wasabi tobikko caviar sauce. For the main dish try the venison, sautéed and finished in the oven and served with a port-raspberry sauce. The fettuccine and sea scallops with a lobster-based sauce is a good choice. If you love your desserts flaming, Le Paon offers several luscious choices including cherries jubilee, bananas Foster and the ultimate favorite crêpes Suzette. Complement your meal with hand-picked wines from France, Germany and Italy as well as boutique wines from California and the Pacific Northwest.
