THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Legacy 1931 Restaurant Review:
Chef-owner Chuck Morgan has crafted a warm, romantically lit nook of a restaurant that features good art on the walls. A Johnson & Wales alumnus, Morgan and his chef de cuisine, Jack Roberts, have developed an eclectic menu that ranges from dishes with Asian touches to thoroughly American fare. A sampling of the breadth: crispy duck confit rolls with field greens and a Dijon-Tupelo honey sauce and delicious seared gulf shrimp and impeccable diver scallops on garlic-parsley pappardelle with a reduced pine nut cream sauce. For dessert, go with the freshly made chocolate mousse resting on a round of flourless chocolate cake with a chocolate dome superimposed---a chocolate-lovers dream. The wine list needs work, with more wines that support this food. Service is delightful, cheerful and exuberant.
