LeMont Restaurant Review: The grand dame of Mt. Washington dining, LeMont wraps together lavish décor, continental cuisine and retro-glamour. It’s a special occasion restaurant, though the quality of service is erratic. The richness of interior detail includes gilt and crystal chandeliers. Request a window table, though they’re at a premium. The restaurant makes minimal menu changes. Regulars flock to the French onion soup and roast raspberry duck. Other items --- cucumber shrimp, coconut-breaded Chilean sea bass, and bouillabaisse --- rotate through the options. All dishes are à la carte and mains come with a vegetable and a starch. The nostalgic elegance of tableside preparations continues, not only for traditional savory dishes --- Caesar salad, steak Diane, Châteaubriand for two --- but also for classic desserts like baked Alaska, bananas Foster and cherries jubilee. Enjoy the view of the city while sipping a special glass from the extensive wine list.
