Levi’s Barbecue Restaurant Review: If you remember nothing else about Levi’s, you’ll recall the ribs. They are huge and meaty, barbecued North Carolina-style with a sultry-sweet sauce that’s got just a hint of pepper around the edges. Overall, what’s offered is old-fashioned Southern home cooking at its best: fried fish, fried chicken, mounds of mashed potatoes, lots of greens, sugary sweet potatoes, hushpuppies, pigs’ feet, chicken wings and those barbecued beef ribs. It’s all served cafeteria-style --- if you hit a busy time of day, you’ll line up with a crowd just for a chance to overeat (it’s hard to say no to anything on the line). No meal here is complete without at least one order of the banana pudding, a triumph of Southern comfort. Check out the daily specials, too.
