Lihue Barbecue Inn Restaurant Review: This longtime family-owned restaurant with a funky coffee shop-style interior mainly serves local residents who want friendly service and predictable food heaped out in generous portions. Despite its name, there aren't any barbecued items on the menu. The food, cooked in local Japanese, Chinese and American styles, includes burgers, steak, kalua pig and cabbage, Asian dishes, banana pancakes and omelets. Fish salads are especially good. Choose the fresh fruit cup with your meal, and be sure to leave room for a slice of one of the cream pies. Prices are a bit high for the food and ambience.
