Linger Longer Steakhouse Restaurant Review: Located in the Oconee Golf Course Clubhouse, Linger Longer Steakhouse features stone fireplaces and a large lounge with an ample bar and selection of cigars. Natural materials craft a sharp but casual interior, enabling guests to enjoy an informal yet top-of-the-line dining experience with fine wines. Seafood defines the best of the starters, with Maine lobster bisque as an example. The restaurant is also dedicated to sourcing materials from nearby purveyors as much as possible, and grows some of its own provisions as well. While steak --- corn-fed Angus --- is the restaurant's raison d'être, the fresh Atlantic salmon provides a break from the beef and a major flavor impact when cooked just to the translucent stage. Or, go for the best of both worlds by pairing a Kansas City strip steak with the butter-poached half Maine lobster. Typical steakhouse sides include Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. For dessert, only the chocolate soufflé will do. The wine list offers a wide range of choices, but the best options are the offbeat ones, such as the Mohua Pinot Noir from Central Otago, New Zealand.
