Linger Longer Steakhouse Restaurant Review: Linger Longer Steakhouse, located in the Oconee Golf Course Clubhouse, features stone fireplaces and a large lounge with an ample bar and selection of cigars. Natural materials craft a sharp but casual interior, enabling diners enjoy an informal yet top-of-the-line dining experience with fine wines. The restaurant caters to resort guests as well as the affluent community that lives around Lake Oconee. Start the proceedings with the Linger Longer Sunrise, a signature take on the Tequila Sunrise. Seafood defines the best of the starters, with seared scallops over wild mushrooms and sugary creamed corn and the wickedly rich jumbo lump crab gratin perfumed with tarragon and Parmesan cheese. The restaurant is also dedicated to sourcing materials from nearby growers and purveyors as much as possible, and grows some of its own provisions as well. The region is particularly proud of their local pork, featured in the grilled double smoked bacon with chimichurri and reduced balsamic glaze. While steak --- corn-fed Angus --- is the restaurant's raison d'être, the fresh Atlantic salmon provides a break from steak and a major flavor impact when cooked just to the translucent stage. Or, go for the best of both worlds by pairing a Kansas City strip steak with the butter-poached half Maine lobster. Typical steakhouse sides include Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. For dessert, only the chocolate soufflé will do. Cotton candy in flavors like Concord grape or raspberry is presented to each table as a closing treat. The wine list offers a wide range of choices, but the best options are the offbeat ones.
