Lobster Cove Restaurant Review: If you're craving that seaside Maine dining experience long into winter, Lobster Cove will satisfy. Its large menu isn't inventive, but it's good for families seeking a touch of summer. Fresh seafood ranges from mussels and clams to haddock and tuna delivered daily by local fishermen --- but you'll get just the basics, including the obligatory steamed bivalves and baked stuffed lobster, and an entire section of the menu is dedicated to the deep-fryer. For non-fish-eaters, there are myriad salads, beef and chicken dishes, and sandwiches, but nothing stands out as extraordinary. Mediocre food aside, the view is spectacular, especially if you sit upstairs near the bar, and proves that the best Maine has to offer is Maine itself. |
