Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar is dimly lit, intimate and sultry, at once romantic and vibrant in character. The small lounge-like space, surrounded by exposed red brick walls and with low-hanging Victorian style chandeliers, wrought iron trappings and banquette seating, is equally ideal for a date or a group night out. The authentic, seasonal Mexican and Latin fare includes starters such as tortilla soup with pulled chicken, avocado, pico de gallo and queso blanco, and iced gazpacho with avocado, crunchy cucumbers and peppers. Carnitas, crispy, slow-roasted pork, salsa verde and red onion radish escabeche; and pollo asado, a marinated grilled half chicken with habanero chile vinegar, are among entrées. There are a variety of quesadillas, soft flour and yellow corn tortilla tacos, seafood and fish on offer as well, not to mention desserts like the quatro leches cake topped with dulce de leche sauce and strawberry sorbet. Tequilas are the primary libation, with a selection of shots and margaritas by the glass and pitcher adding to Lolita's charm.
