Longhi's Restaurant Review: In the 1970s, Bob Longhi came to Hawaii on vacation, didn't like the meal he had in a Front Street restaurant and bought it. Thus, the Longhi's legend was born. This South Maui outpost is much more spectacular than the original, though it retains the signature black and white marble tile floor. This restaurant preserves the menu of the original: shrimp and lobster in garlic butter, prawns Amaretto, veal Marsala, chicken piccata. This is unreconstructed heavy Italian restaurant cooking and people love it, topping it off with chocolate cheesecake with kirsch-marinated cherries. The wine list here has gotten quite formidable in Italian offerings. |
