| This offshoot of the ultra-hip Loring Café inhabits a whimsically elegant space. Unfortunately, the food is not always up to snuff, and the service---relying on university students--is inconsistent. Still, there are affordable pastas like the house-made fettuccine carbonara and cheese tortellini as well as some old favorites from the sister restaurant's menu, like the comforting artichoke ramekin, which remain a good choice. Our advice? Stick with the appetizers and pastas, territory in which the kitchen is most likely to shine. The place is especially enjoyable on evenings when there's live music. |
