THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED LowCountry Barbecue Restaurant Review: THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Bennett Brown's program is to highlight the barbecue styles of his native South Carolina, so the sauce is a medium-bodied tomato-mustard blend. Start with a classic pimento cheese, which comes with crudités for dipping. The ribs are tasty, but seem to have been cooked in advance over steam, resulting in a texture and color that lack authenticity. They come with sauce already on them, another misfire. Better is the pulled pork, and be sure to get the sauce on the side. Side dishes include a very nice perlo, a South Carolina dish, of rice with, in this case, sausages. Quite good corn on the cob is another. Try the cobbler for dessert, banana pudding. Beer and wine are available, although the latter selections are pretty unremarkable.
