Not many restaurants can satisfy business lunchers by day, the steakhouse crowd in the evening, and a see-and-be-seen party crew at night. Yet Lucas Park Grille has kept up the pace for years --- and it has done it with panache. The small-plate, Missouri grass-fed beef mini-burgers are a small meal in the guise of an appetizer, arguably as filling as (and only a few dollars cheaper than) large plates like the braised beef short rib sandwich or the Missouri mushroom risotto. The restaurant’s interior is glamorous, almost theatrical, yet it’s comfortable, too, with plasma TVs and eclectic lighting paired somewhat incongruously with stone fireplaces and cozy nooks. The good wine list is mostly for the dinner crowd; afterward, cocktails and bottled beer are the drinks of choice.
