Lucky Diner Restaurant Review:

Belltown wins the lottery hosting this urban diner serving quality food in a friendly, light-filled setting. Chef Justin Mevs, formerly executive chef at Cutters Bayhouse, brings a creative spin to a large menu of comfort food. Breakfast is served all day until the dinner hour, and again after 10 p.m. Order blueberry flapjacks or build a hefty omelet by selecting up to four ingredients (roast chicken is a nice addition). These arrive with a bowl of Lucky Charms or---a better choice---a generous fresh fruit salad. For lunch, choose a deli sandwich served with crispy sweet potato fries or the Lady Luck---a tasty but pricey sub featuring blackened salmon and caramelized onions. At dinnertime, we like the Mediterranean turkey loaf with feta and spinach, or the crispy but moist beer can chicken. For a sweet ending, we suggest the hot fudge brownie or cheesecake with seasonal berries. There's a small but affordable selection of beer and wine, as well as a kids' menu. The waitstaff is engaging but service can be slow.
