THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Lucky's Cook House Restaurant Review:
Located in an up-and-coming area that hasn't quite arrived, Lucky's Cook House specializes in old-fashioned, traditional American food with robust flavors and local produce. The meats are slow-roasted, the soups, breads and desserts are house-made, and the salads are put together tableside. There are rotating daily specials. A tip: Thursday is pork roast night. Prices are kept accessible and the portions are hearty. From the regular menu, standout appetizers include the grilled artichoke with parsley-garlic butter or beef carpaccio with arugula and shaved Parmesan. Sometimes the flavor profile feels a little too robust---the palate likes a touch of bland or at least delicate every now and again---but bland you can get anywhere. Just not here.
