Lulu California Bistro Restaurant Review: Lulu California Bistro continues to pack in a diverse crowd. Its stark white façade, lofty terraced dining room and bursts of candy-color embellishments add to the verve. A large sidewalk patio affords plenty of additional seating. The lengthy menu can be hit-or-miss, and offers maybe too many options. But chef Arturo Casillas makes it fun and flavorful and portions are generous. Expect an assortment of appetizers, salads, panini, seafood, steak and pasta. Favorites include the New England lobster rolls, a trio of sandwiches filled with tender lobster meat, house-made mayonnaise, celery, chives and diced tomatoes. The wine list is thoughtful and features many California labels like Rodney Strong and La Crema, as well as notable European selections. Craft brews are on tap, and cocktails are shaken and stirred.
