Lung Gong Restaurant Restaurant Review: Lung Gong looks like any other strip mall Chinese restaurant but the sweeping breadth and awesome authenticity of its menu sets this place apart from the pack. Wheat dough with black mushrooms and dried lily flower brings a type of thick, spongy and dried mushroom-flavored bean curd---like a love-child of morel and tofu. Tender conch slices stir-fried with bell peppers, loads of fresh ginger and searing red chili peppers bring out the chef's native Szechuan tendencies, and bay leaves duck exuding exotic, smoky laurel-and-five-spice aromatics showcases his ability to flat-out cook amazingly good food. There's an alternative menu for those who like their wonton soup and egg foo yong, but anyone who treasures the unique allure of authentic Chinese cooking will be thrilled with Lung Gong. |
