THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Madras Palace Restaurant Review:

If you are comfortable with the smooth, silken curries of North Indian cooking and the subtly complex seasonings, vegetarian dishes may startle you, for flavors are generally hotter and more intense (typical of South Indian cooking), and the dishes are, of course, meatless. But Madras Palace's menu holds so many more promises, from the uthapam (pancakes made with rice and lentils) and vegetable curries (North and South Indian-style) and the assorted rice specialties, to say nothing of the variations of dosas. Desserts are standard but include a South Indian specialty, the Madras payasam made from milk and sugar boiled with very thin vermicelli---interesting and offbeat.
