We've always been more impressed by this restaurant's lively ambience and old-school East Coast décor than with its food, but then, Maggiano's has never been a gourmand getaway---it’s a nationwide chain and their tagline is, “Wherever you are, there’s a Maggiano’s Little Italy near you.” Serving superfluous portions of standard Italian-American food, the restaurant caters to families, large parties, and anyone who believes that good value means lots of leftovers. The eatery is fine for lunch with co-workers or a casual night out, and Maggiano's robust pastas and cheese-smothered entrées are quite satisfactory, but it is not so much a spot for a dinner to savor and remember.

Slow, very slow, service

We had the longest dinner when we dined at Maggino's. Despite of having made a reservation, we had to wait over 20 minutes to be seated (after I finally complained). What is the purpose of reserving a table? We understand they are always busy and thought a reservation will be honored and save us some time. This is definitely not how we were treated. One of the hosts gave me a lecture about a "15-minute" grace period from the time I checked in. Well, I felt so not welcome by that person and definitely waited OVER 20 minutes for my reservation!

After we ordered our meals, we had to ask for bread after staring at our empty table over 15 minutes... Then wait longer for our appetizers... wait another 30 minutes for our main courses... The whole dinner is a story of waiting! I don't mean a reasonable amount of wait.. It is a series of long waits.

I feel like they overbooked their reservations and was treated like an after-thought. Even our table was tucked away from the main dining room at the very end of the room. Hey, that seems nothing compared to the endless wait we experienced after all!

Food is good and our waitress was full of apologies for the turtle slow speed the food was served.

I will not ever dine there again unless I have 3 hours to kill on any given night."
