Stick with the Vietnamese side of the menu and you’ll have a fine time at Mai’s. Décor is Formica tables, tubular chairs, a couple of booths, and a few Asian objets d’art, not exactly the most inviting atmosphere for dining but it may explain why there’s always a line for take-out and plenty of empty tables. The Chinese food is fine, but the Vietnamese noodle and soup dishes are superb, delicately seasoned and made with fresh ingredients. Great for take-out or an inexpensive dinner before heading out for the evening.
