THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mama Fu's Noodle House Restaurant Review:
Part of a nationwide chain, this Rockville eatery personalizes its noodle dishes to appeal to the American taste bud. Nothing is too exotic, no flavor too potent, no portions too large. Its menu makes the most of the current passion for Asian noodle-bowl eating, too, with such dishes as pad thai, Chinese lo mein, and Vietnamese pho ga, heaped into substantial containers for at-table slurping. Our favorite is the spicy basil noodles, a wicked Thai-Chinese swirl of rice noodles blasted with chili pods and chili sauce. We urge you to start off with the Bangkok basil rolls accompanied by a sweet peanut dipping sauce. Follow this with the pork-filled pot sticker dumplings, available in two sizes. Salads, soups and stir-fries round out the minimal menu. Thanks to its bargain-basement prices, Mama Fu's will keep its tables filled. Note: Plenty of Asian families seem to make Mama's their local destination.
