Manhattan Express Restaurant Review: It’s a safe bet there’s no Provel cheese anywhere in Manhattan. In a nod to tradition, Manhattan Express doesn’t tinker with Provel on its New York-style pies, but it’s more than generous with the locally beloved dairy product on the extra-crispy St. Louis-style pizzas. Manhattan Express is a short hop from its non-express parent, Café Manhattan, and is strong on carry-out, with a few sidewalk tables for lunching on nice days. The food is entirely in keeping with the relaxed décor. In addition to the pizzas, the menu offers the essential building blocks: sandwiches, Italian pastas, salads. Feed the family with a half-gallon of mostaccioli in meat sauce, plus garlic bread and salad, delivered to you by Dining Express for around 20 bucks. |
