Margie's Candies, Chicago, IL

Margie's Candies Restaurant Review

: Climb into a jukebox booth at Margie's and grab a spoon or a straw to enjoy one of the 10-plus, all-natural homemade ice cream flavors the shop has been concocting since 1921. Banana, vanilla, coffee, coconut and cheesecake are a few of the temptations served in vintage tin dishes. Not much has changed at Margie's since then, from the recipes to the old-time d├ęcor, but that's a good thing. The waffle cones are also handmade, as is the candy. Dessert is obviously the priority here, but there is a selection of simple sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs and a soup of the day. Also located at 1813 W. Montrose Ave., 773-348-0400.
