THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Max's Steak House Restaurant Review:
This is a steakhouse by any definition, and a good one at that. But there are some fine non-steak selections worthy of consideration, such as the chicken ropa vieja, the Cuban specialty comprised of chicken skewers redolent of garlic, onions, citrus and herbs; and the lobster phyllo with chunks of the luscious crustacean served with sautéed leeks and potatoes wrapped in phyllo and napped in a fennel cream sauce. Carnivores, however, will find delight in Max’s bone-in rib-eye, or an eight-ounce Prime filet mignon. The prices are stiff but Sunday through Tuesday there’s a $35 four-course chef’s menu with many savory options.
