Maynards Market & Kitchen Restaurant Review: Set in the historic Southern Pacific train depot, this intimate restaurant offers the seasonal cooking of chef Addam Buzzalini. The onion soup is a classic, and his version of poutine elevates the humble dish: hot, sizzling frites, duck gravy, duck confit, foie gras, duck cracklins’ and local cheese curds. Among dinner choices, we suggest the cassoulet and the Niman Ranch lamb shank. Mussels with white wine and herbs, served with some of the aforementioned frites, is another signature selection. Buzzalini always has a fresh fish on the menu, depending on market availability. But keep in mind that because the chef is driven by the season, certain items may not always be on the menu, although other tempting plates will be. Dine indoors in a romantic space that resembles an old train car, or opt for seating on the lovely patio.
