Mayur Cuisine of India Restaurant Review:
Located in a low-key spot amidst the beachy bustle of downtown Corona Del Mar's shop and restaurant scene, Mayur intrigues because of owner Anju Kapoor, who offers a menu that's part Indian comfort food, part fusion dining. Come here for Kapoor’s signature tandoori lamb chops, which are skillet-cooked and coated in a yogurt mixture spiked with coriander, ginger, garlic, cumin and a touch of cinnamon. Portions at dinner can be quite small, so it's advisable to order an appetizer like the samosas, the vegetable pakoras, or perhaps the oven-roasted sweet potato chat. A vegetarian prix-fixe menu is also available. End the meal with pistachio kulfi, an Indian ice cream.
