| Mall food is usually bad food, but when the mall is the very swanky NorthPark Center, there's a chance there will be swanky good food, too. And so there is at McCormick & Schmick's. The deluxe setting of dark honey-colored woods, polished brass and cozy leather banquettes is just what you need after a stressful hour or two at Tiffany. A dozen or so types of oysters are flown in fresh daily from all points of the U.S. and Canada, to be served on the half shell with little fuss. If you're lucky, the divine, velvety, luscious Kumamoto oysters will be on the list when you visit. Not just the oysters but all the seafood is flown in fresh daily and treated with respect. Sauces and seasonings are judiciously applied, complementing rather than disguising the main ingredient. We like the Texas blue crab cake, moist, meaty and juicy with just enough filler to hold it all together. The menu changes daily according to market availability, so grab a few oysters, order what sounds enticing that day and recharge for just a little more shopping. |
