THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mediterraneo Restaurant Review:

Don’t even bother perusing the menu at this North Dallas hot spot: The daily specials are always outstanding, especially the appetizers. We have fond memories of braised duck ravioli with essence of truffle, a sweet corn pancake topped with lump crab in a lobster butter sauce, and a delicate goat cheese, mango and avocado salad. The mushroom risotto is divine, seafood is consistently handled well, and potatoes---horseradish whipped, garlicky gratin, or formed into a herbed cake---are always good. We can also recommend the duck: We tried it cherry-glazed one time, served with wild rice pancakes the next and orange marinated the third, and found it succulent on each occassion. Desserts are definitely worth ordering, too, especially the crème brûlée and the three-layer chocolate mousse cake. Our only quibble---and it’s a consistent one---is that the service needs to be better paced. Sometimes you’re left stranded, while other times the staff is all over you. The food is so good, though, that we keep going back.
