The Melting Pot Restaurant Review

: A little retro fonduing can make for an evening of romantic or downright silly fun, depending on your companions. Grab a booth and begin with one of five cheese fondues, including the classic Swiss version with Gruyère and Emmental, fortified with white wine and kirsch. Then move on to your entrée: a themed plate of raw ingredients to cook in oil, wine or bouillon. The Pacific Rim platter, for instance, arrives with hunks of teriyaki sirloin, peanut-marinated duck breast, chicken, pork-filled pot stickers and shiitake mushrooms; the French Quarter features Cajun-seasoned filet mignon, chicken breast and shrimp. All are accompanied by salad, vegetables, and appropriate dipping sauces. For dessert, dip fruit, marshmallows or cake into your favorite chocolate. Settle in for a good gabfest or a round of soul-searching eye contact over the steaming pot, and you'll find yourself plunging into the spirit of the thing.
