Alavita Restaurant Review:

Just off the corner of Eighth and Idaho, Alavita turns out Italian cuisine highlighting fresh pastas matched locally-grown ingredients. The result is a menu that's simple and rustic yet sizzling. Appetizers range from Pecorino Toscano cheese baked on flavorful cedar planks to spicy Pacific yellowtail crudo. Among the aforementioned pastas are the inspired cobocha and pumpkin seed pesto tortellini and Barolo-braised short ribs garganelli. Round out your meal with sweet and salty vanilla budino, classic tiramisu or a chocolate-espresso tart. Designer Mitch Thompson created the space with organic textures and custom lighting, but seating can be tight and the small space makes for, at times, a noisy dining experience. Still, at least drop in for a Bellini or one of many hand-crafted cocktails and you’ll be raising your glass “to life.” A well-crafted international wine list offers choices to accent any main dish.
