El Rey Rotisserie & Tacqueria Restaurant Review:
In the middle of Washington Avenue's hot restaurant row, this little fast-food joint serves inexpensive border-style fare. Before the trendy eateries awake, El Rey is bustling with folks queuing up for breakfast tacos, ranchero egg plates and strong cups of Cuban coffee. For lunch, try the rotisserie chicken, beef fajitas or one of the filling sandwiches. Mexican-style tortas are stacked on toasted bolilo bread with your choice of meats or fish. Try the al pastor torta with lean pork and a spicy Mexican sauce. You can also pick up family-style orders to go, along with fresh soups and sides for very reasonable prices. El Rey pours an excellent house-made horchata --- a sweet rice drink --- as well as beer, wine and a wine-based margarita.
