Fiamma Grille Restaurant Review:

Sister to Compari’s Italian Restaurant next door, this iteration from the Yaquinto family draws on its relative for a smattering of Italian dishes. However, the emphasis here is on steaks and seafood. Choose from numerous appetizers or two soups, one of which is always creamy shrimp bisque; another option may be an interesting fruit gazpacho. Among salads, go for the classic Caesar or the namesake Compari: romaine sprinkled with blue cheese, pine nuts and house dressing. Tops on the steak side is the 22-ounce porterhouse, but more realistic appetites may choose the 14-ounce strip steak or lamb chops. When it comes to seafood, there’s sashimi-grade ahi, seared rare with a seven-pepper rub and plated with balsamic-soy reduction, cucumber wasabi and a risotto cake. Another winning dish is the pork tenderloin medallions, sautéed with green peppercorns, cremini mushrooms and crème fraîche and served with garlic mashed potatoes. The wine list includes a nice selection by the glass. Come on Wednesdays, when half-price oysters and select Champagne is offered. It’s fun to sit outdoors and watch passersby, but downtown motorcycle traffic can get a bit loud. It’s also loud inside, however. “Fiamma” in Italian is "bright flame," and Fiamma the restaurant is one of Plymouth’s brightest.
