THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Ike's Food & Cocktails Restaurant Review:
Ikeís is old-school. Stuck in a long, narrow space, wedged between two steakhouses, it’s the big-city bar from the ’40s where your grandfather could have been pictured hanging with his buddy, Smitty. You’ll find hand-carved roast beef sandwiches, tender roasted chicken with the ultimate in creamy mashed potatoes (the Blue Plate Special) and hand-cut fries, which are lovely and oh-so-crispy. Hand-pattied burgers have become a local legend; arriving innocently in waxed paper, their juiciness and density will have you craving them weeks after. Sit back in one of the comfy booths and enjoy an old-fashioned ice cream drink (when was the last time you saw a Pink Squirrel on the menu?). When it’s time, wait for the check with anticipation; it’s delivered with warm, homemade cookies. Sunday brunch includes huge, gooey caramel rolls and eggs made to-order plus plenty more.
