Paolo's Trattoria Restaurant Review:

Paolo's, where warmth and comfort hold sway, is everything a neighborhood joint should be. Past all the inviting exposed brick, potted plants and quietly chatting clientele, an open kitchen further sets the intimate mood --- and it also makes strongly satisfying Italian food. Chef-owner Paul Delios is a seasoned practitioner of “cucina italiana” in all its product-privileging simplicity. There are traditional finds on the menu, like a caprese salad and a platter of antipasto, but we prefer to get started with a sampling of rolled roasted eggplant slices stuffed with creamy ricotta topped with mozzarella and tomato sauce. A good selection of wood-fired pizzas includes an all-white mozzarella, provolone and Romano cheese pie, as well as the untraditional Bolognese with a three-cheese blend. Dishes like the cast iron salmon with polenta and tomato basil salsa burst with spectrum-spanning flavors, while lobster ravioli, for all its richness, seems homey and hearty, not flashy and pretentious. Homemade tiramisu is a fitting end.
