Samurai Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Samurai is decorated so that the dining room appears to be the courtyard in a Japanese home (albeit a courtyard with a très-Tahoe circular fire pit). A classically trained sushi chef, a hot commodity in the Tahoe Basin, presides over the sushi bar; he sends out pristine sashimi that showcases how proper slicing enhances fish texture and flavor. The restaurant’s “Asian Bistro” menu includes simmered catfish, prawns atop a tangy snarl of glass noodles and tender orange roughy lacquered with sweet-spicy chili-garlic sauce. Samurai also offers a good selection of chilled sakés.
