Shangri-La Restaurant Review:
The big dining rooms are decorated with Chinese artwork, including a colorful stained glass ceiling, which was imported in pieces and reassembled here. Shangri-La’s extensive menu of authentic Chinese fare draws an international crowd, although those looking for the familiar American-Chinese favorites will find them as well. Choose from interesting fresh fish and seafood dishes, the main ingredients plucked from a huge tank. Live fish offerings include (depending upon the season) steamed silver bass, steamed tilapia and sautéed filet of sole with vegetables. Consider, too, braised duck with Chinese mushrooms; Hong Kong eggplant; minced pork stir-fried with ginger and garlic; and the down-to-earth dish congee. Another find: beef short ribs with spicy salt. Dim sum is served daily from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
