THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Suburban House Restaurant Review:

Lost to a fire in the 50-plus-year-old Pikesville landmark Suburban House, affectionately known as “S&H,” were the cozy, old-fashioned dining rooms, the revolving dessert case and the autographed photos. The restaurant’s current incarnation in Pomona Square is more, well, suburban: clean-lined and contemporary, with globe lights, bold wall graphics and pops of bright color. Deli-lovers shouldn’t fear, though: while the menu has gone through a few changes, S&H is still S&H. The sandwich names alone --- “The Chutzpah,” “The Mayven,” “Liver Come Back To Me” --- give you an immediate feel for the lighthearted spirit of the place. There are hot dogs, too, along with entrées like meatloaf and mashed potatoes, hot corned beef or pastrami, and liver and onions. And don’t forget the kreplach, matzoh ball soup, knishes, cheese blintzes and other Jewish classics. While you’re there, grab Baltimore’s iconic edibles like coddies, chocolate top cookies and rainbow cake.
