Offering a menu of both classic and exotic Mexican dishes, this well-run restaurant is known for its quality and reasonable prices. Our favorites include chicken in a spicy pipian sauce thickened with ground green pumpkin and sesame seeds. You can't go wrong with the soft tacos made with grilled corn tortillas and a choice of fillings---from chicken, chorizo, barbecued pork, beef cheeks, brains or tripe. The burritos are wrapped in flour tortillas and may be ordered "wet," meaning smothered in a vibrant sauce. Prawns in their shells are sautéed in butter and garlic or cloaked in a lively chili sauce. On weekends, diners turn out for menudo, the tripe and hominy soup long touted as a hangover cure.
