Meze Wine Cafe & Market Restaurant Review: Modeled after similar concepts in larger American cities and Europe, Meze successfully combines the elements of gourmet market and neighborhood café. Patrons get to take advantage of the owners’ searches for fun foodstuffs. This is the place to look on the shelves for that English ketchup, Italian salumi, or that hard-to-find Spanish olive variety. As for the café menu, go for one of the “country boards” --- a spread of cheese, charcuterie and accompaniments from a specific country/region, or bite into one of several sandwiches made with imported meats and cheeses. The Brussels sprouts salad with almonds and dried cherries is hard to pass up, as are the brown butter cookies for dessert. The wine list includes some local selections, but is primarily made up of obscure international finds.
