THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mezzanotte Ristorante Restaurant Review:
This Italian restaurant gives diners a good excuse to visit the new entertainment and restaurant complex in Ybor City. The first Mezzanotte (Italian for midnight) was opened in South Beach in 1988, and this venue is similar. There is attention to comfort and ease of access: a full-service outdoor bar with seating under colorful market umbrellas, large picture windows, mahogany-framed mirrors and music. The menu ranges from the expected array of pastas, chicken, meat and seafood dishes to wood-oven pizzas and homemade desserts. The signature cocktail is the Bellini (white peach juice and Champagne) and appetizers include carpaccio di salmone (thin slices of fresh salmon with a green sauce) and vigtello al Toscana (fresh fennel with thin slices of cold roasted veal, roasted peppers, white beans and feta cheese in a light olive oil and lemon dressing). A nice range of pastas includes linguine Buscaniera prepared with mussels, clams, scallops and shrimp in a light tomato sauce There is also a choice of chicken, veal, steak and seafood entrées. The dessert menu includes tiramisu, made fresh on site and served at room temperature. A popular choice is the chefs made-to-order chocolate soufflé.
