A Texas-transplant, this hip, modern Tex-Mex eatery fits in well in the upscale Chevy Chase neighborhood; the interior is as sleek and shiny as the area itself. Mi Cocina’s menu offers a worthy guacamole, a big bowl of chips with dip, and many of the American faves that draw big crowds: enchiladas, burritos, fajitas and tacos (try the shredded beef brisket version). Dessert choices include flan and pecan pralines. As for drinks, Mi Cocina focuses on tequila-based cocktails, a sure cure for happy hour blues.
