 Mia Bella Trattoria Restaurant Review: Chef-restaurateur Youssef Nafaa has a collection of four Mia Bella Trattorias, including this popular downtown spot. Lunches offer a fine house salad and items such as chicken crêpes. Starters include grilled calamari, the unique strudel di funghi formaggio (a wild mushroom strudel with goat cheese), and an artful capesante con porri, sautéed scallops with leeks in a roasted jalapeño pesto sauce. The menu also includes a variety of fish, lamb, veal, beef, chicken and pasta dishes. Finish with the especially fine crème brûlée or Nafaa's own tiramisu. The wine list is affordable and filled with sturdy Italian selections; house wines by the glass are a steal. The room is small and can be crowded on occasion, and service is sometimes spotty. |
