The Mill on the River Restaurant Review: Nestled on the picturesque banks of the Podunk River in South Windsor, The Mill on the River is a quiet, cozy spot that takes ample advantage of its setting’s inherent romance: the tables are impressively set, the lighting is mood-appropriate and the views from the large bay windows lovely. Mediterranean, Latin and German influences dominate the menu---an odd combination if ever there was one, but the kitchen pulls it off admirably. The wiener schnitzel and brats are worth a try, but the ravioli and the lobster pasta with caramelized onions, baby asparagus, tomatoes and Brie in a vodka cream sauce are even better. Desserts rotate regularly but are always worth checking out, especially since sharing one will help bring you and your date that much closer together. |
