THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Mirch Masala Restaurant Review:

Nanluogu Xiang is a busy little hutong near Houhai that is jigging with hip cafés, bars and restaurants. The best of those is Mirch Masala, a cozy Indian restaurant with a hot chicken vindaloo that requires a couple of bowls of cucumber raita (minty yogurt) to finish. Ingredients are fresh and there are some first-rate vegetarian dishes like the super-creamy dal makhni. Meat options include all the standards---korma, balti, tikka and curry using chicken and lamb---as well as fish and seafood. Best of all, they stock the fierce Kingfisher Beer. Inside it’s an odd mix of gothic chairs and Hindu deity posters. The atmosphere is generally warm and friendly and the service is courteous to a cup of (masala) tea.
