Momos Ouzaria Taverna Restaurant Review: Momos’ daytime crowd isn’t much into sharing; its business lunchers stick mostly to salads and lamb gyros. But come dinner, communal appetizers and mezes proliferate, from garlic-and-potato skordalia to eggplant fries and grilled lamb with fig mustard. Small-plates dining makes it less intimidating to try something new, like marinated octopus or calamari, or something such as roasted snapper in saffron broth. The vegetarian-friendly star is the chickpea-and-feta cake. Momos’ libations are a lesson in Greek mythology. Zeus is a gin martini, Atlas is a Manhattan, and Momos, the god of satire and mockery, is a cosmopolitan. All are a fitting accompaniment to the belly dancers, appearing around 7:30 in the evenings. |
