Mooo.... Restaurant Review: The understated elegance at Mooo…. certainly shines through the moment you step into the Beacon Hill steakhouse. A favorite among politicos, who populate the bustling after-work scene at the bar, this hotel restaurant situated in XV Beacon is modern and upscale. The à la carte menu ranges from the classic New York strip to the overindulgent six-ounce Wagyu Australian sirloin. The focus here is on Prime cuts of dry-aged beef (a costly process that produces beautifully concentrated beef flavors). The menu includes a 35-day dry-aged sirloin from Oregon’s Painted Hills ranch, which gets even pricier when paired up with one of the wines from the cellar. Seafood lovers have their fair share of dishes to choose from, including cider-glazed salmon and butter-poached Maine lobster. Sides are good but lean to the traditional staples such as steamed asparagus and creamed spinach. The dessert list likewise has many classics, but the Baileys hot fudge sundae just might be the city’s most indulgent ending. |
