| Step through the doors of Mr. Ojisan and be transported to Japan. The fine food, spare, classic Japanese ambience and calmly efficient service keep the limited seats in high demand. Starting your meal with a bowl of maguro natto (fresh tuna chunks with fermented soy beans) will whet the appetite for a teishoku (set menu) meal of your choice. We suggest the grilled sanma (mackerel pike) which is accompanied by miso soup, pickles, a seasonal small dish and rice---meat lovers will go for the Wafu steak served in the same manner. At lunch and late night the noodles are a popular choice and you can order a combo of a mini-size noodles with gyoza for the lighter appetite. Nighttime is when you should pull out all the stops and order a sashimi platter to start followed by either yosenabe or sukiyaki, both served in the traditional Japanese hot pot manner. The bar counter is lined with shochu bottles boldly inscribed with their owners’ names. |
