| Like its progeny, the Somerville flagship is a modest affair, sparely decorated and proffering a large menu of mostly familiar Japanese, Chinese and Thai dishes --- think chop suey, chow mein, noodles, rice dishes and pad thai. Classic appetizers include teriyaki, spare ribs, chicken fingers and egg rolls, but untraditional finds reveal peppery fried calamari, sesame cold noodles and Szechuan spicy wonton. There is a good selection of bean curd and vegetables as well. We like the scallop egg foo young and steamed chicken with ginger and scallions. |
