Ocean Terrace Restaurant Review: Perched high on the rooftop at George's at the Cove, overlooking the shores of La Jolla, diners find themselves mesmerized by the sweeping sea and sky views. Add the food from local chef Trey Foshee, creative cocktails and a thoughtful wine list to the mix, and you might just have all the ingredients for an idyllic culinary experience. Immediately order chef Foshee's famous fish tacos---lightly grilled yellowtail, vibrant with mango salsa and avocado. Jalapeño-lime crème fraîche adds a little heat, while shredded cabbage lends crunch. For lunch, we also like the grilled skirt steak salad over arugula with green beans and fingerling potatoes in a Maytag blue cheese vinaigrette, or the Cuban sandwich, hot pressed pork and Niman ham with the punch of mustard and pickles. For dinner, we recommend the seared ahi over soba noodles, or the comforting penne bedecked with tender lamb, artichokes, olives and just the right amount of mint ricotta. Foshee's mahi mahi is another fine choice. Our go-to sun-kissed afternoon quaffable is the Xolo, Don Julio Anejo tequila with grapefruit and agave syrup and a black salt rim.
