| It's no surprise that beer is the raison d'être at the Old German Beer Hall. Hofbräu München, Munich's most famous beverage, is the brew on tap; varieties include Hofbräu Dunkel (a dark-colored but light-bodied Bavarian) and Münchner Kindl Weisse (a wheat). Other German drinks include Killepitsch Kräuterlikör (similar to Jägermeister), Berentzen Apfelkorn (similar to apple schnapps) and a variety of German wines. Have a little fun and try your prowess at the nail game (you have to pound a nail into the stump with a single swing). Hungry? Go for the Usinger brats, sandwiches and warm Bavarian pretzels served by waitresses dressed in authentic German dirndls. Look for the daily $5 lunch special---any sausage with a side dish and beer or root beer---or come on Friday for the fish fry. |
