THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Osteria d'Aldo Restaurant Review:

Osteria d’Aldo is located in a historic green and white Victorian office building on Main Street. The massive medieval studded door leads you into a dark, cozy otherworldly dining venue. With dark woods, graceful masonry arches and rough hewn tables and chairs, the snug room is best described as a wine cave. Owner Aldo El Sharif describes the offerings on his menu as Italian tapas, small, delectable portions artfully prepared and accompanied by a superb selection of wines. The 500-bottle-wine list is well crafted and offers 100 choices by the glass. It contains a stunning array of sought after California, Chilean, French and Australian wines with the surprising and pricey along side fine, affordable selections. The glorious assortment of Italian cheeses and meats are fine place to start. Entrées of petite but so satisfying portions include, a black pasta Tortellini stuffed with seafood and served with a sherry cream sauce and the highly recommended veal tenderloin served with foie gras, frisée and truffle oil. Osteria d’Aldo is a truly atmospheric, culinary adventure, one of the real successes of the downtown dining renaissance.
